The Beattitudes are found in Matthew 5:3-12

Verse 3 God Blesses those who realize their need for Him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is given to them.
This is pretty simple, all you have to do is realize the need for God and you get to go to Heaven, that's not hard at all.
Verse 4 God Blesses those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
You must understand that God understands when you are sad, if you fall back on Him in your time of sorrow, He will carry you through.
Verse 5 God Blesses those who are meek, for the will inherit the Earth.
WOW!! According to this the weak people will in the end be the strongest wealthiest people. Isn't that interesting??
Verse 6 God Blesses those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
If you are a dedicated Christian and follow God, then you will be richly blessed.
Verse 7 God Blesses those who are merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Treat others the way you want to be treated.
Verse 8 God Blesses those who are pure in heart, for the will see God.
If you are not on the straight and narrow, get there, fast!
Verse 9 God Blesses those who are peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God
Reminds me of a hippie era saying "Make peace not War!" or something like that. If you make peace God will welcome you.
Verse 10 God blesses those who are persecuted because of His righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven.
Hey, if people pick on you because you stand up for God, well, God is on your side, and He will back you up!

Verse 11 Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Verse 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way the persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Basically Jesus was saying that if you follow Him, then you will have a great reward in Heaven.
